Low cost drinks to make at home

Whether you have a zoom happy hour coming up or need a glass to keep you company while reading your favorite book, we have three easy, low-cost drinks that you can make at home!

For those days when you just need an extra cold drink, here’s your scoop for an amazing Frose!

Ingredients (6 glasses):

  • ½ cup of sugar
  • 3 teaspoons of honey
  • 3 Cups of water
  • 9 Fresh strawberries
  • 1 Bottle of rose

Recommended Rose bottles ($15-$20)

  1. Place the Rose in the fridge
  2. Chop the strawberries into 4 parts each and freeze
  3. Boil the water and mix with the sugar until the sugar is completely dissolved
  4. Take the water mixture out and put it on an ice cube tray on the freezer
  5. You can do this preparation overnight and do the blending in the morning or you can just wait 3 hours for the mix on the ice cube trays to freeze.
  6. Once the ice cubes are ready, remove them from the tray and place them in a blender
  7. Pour in your bottle of Rose
  8. Add the frozen strawberries
  9. Add the three teaspoons of honey
  10. Blend
  11. Serve!

Now you have a perfect rose for a sunny day while you meet your friends on zoom and maybe have a Netflix Party!

For a nice refreshing Sangria, here’s your scoop!

Ingredients: (2 glasses)

  • 1 Orange
  • 1 Apple
  • 1 glass of Wine

Some good affordable red wine options (you can find brands priced between $10-$20)

  • Pinot Noir
  • Zinfandel

Some good affordable white wines options (you can find brands priced between $10-$20)

  • Pinot Grigio
  • Chardonnay


  1. Squeeze half an orange 
  2. Chop the other half into small squares 
  3. Chop the apple into small squares
  4. Pour the freshly squeezed orange into your glass
  5. Fill the glass with the fruit
  6. Add the wine

Now grab that book you’ve been reading, get comfortable on your couch, put your legs up, and enjoy that refreshing Sangria!

Ingredients: (3 glasses)

  • 12 Mint leaves
  • 1 Lemon
  • 6 teaspoons of Sugar 
  • 12 ice cubes
  • Rum
  • 1-liter bottle of Ginger ale

Recommended Rums ($8 – $20)

  • Bacardi Superior White Rum
  • Bacardi Rum Limon
  • Malibu Strawberry Rum Flavored


  1. Pick the mint leaves that you’re going to use for your Mojito (for best result pick the greenest ones), wash them, and place 4 leaves per cup. (There are two ways to do this, it depends on your preference, you can either remove the leaves from the stem or simply put the whole stem with the leaves into the glass.)
  2. Add three teaspoons of lemon juice per cup
  3. Add two teaspoons of sugar per cup
  4. Muddle gently
  5. Add 4 ice cubes per cup
  6. Add ¼ cup of rum per glass
  7. Add ginger ale
  8. Mix and serve
