5 At Home Beauty Essentials

If you’re working from home, quarantining, or simply spending some time with yourself, here are 5 great at home beauty essentials you must start using!

Chapstick chapstick chapstick

Yes, chapstick! No one likes dry lips, and coupled with cooler temperatures coming up, that is a recipe for disaster. I don’t know about you but I hate it when my lips start to peel. This happens when we are not moisturizing enough or we’re wearing lots of matte lipstick! This is why it’s super important to moisturize your lips and chapstick does the job! As long as you apply consistently, your lips will be moisturized. My favorite is the Eos Vanilla Bean Lip Balm, but you choose your favorite! Put it on before any matte lipstick when you’re simply lounging around the house. And there is no need to invest in a super hydrating lip balm or shell out $20! That $3 lip balm from the drugstore will work perfectly!

BB cream

If you’re at home, have nowhere else to be, and just have a few online meetings and calls with friends, then you probably don’t want to go through the effort of layering on foundation, concealer, and all the works. It takes a lot of time, not to mention will give you premature wrinkles! This is why a BB cream is a must-have! My favorite is the La Roche-Posay Effaclar BB Blur because it covers pores and blemishes and looks very natural. You can simply spread your favorite one on your face and just like that you have given yourself a lighter and more natural coverage that will work perfectly for your online meetings and calls. It will take less than 2 minutes to apply and give your skin a break from a full face of makeup, whilst still giving you the impression of coverage combined with a fresh-faced look.

Hydrating moisturizer!

You’re at home all day, probably only going out for essential shopping or some exercise, so you should take advantage and moisturize not just your lips, but your whole face and body. If you’re not used to doing this, it is essential that you begin now! Buy a hydrating moisturizer if you have dry skin, my favorite is the Neutrogena Hydro Boost gel cream for the face and pair it up with any other body moisturizer. Just lather yourself up in cream so your skin will be soft and healthy!

Under eye masks

If you suffer from dark circles like I do, then now is the time to make them disappear (or less noticeable). Aside from sticking to a set sleep schedule of at least 8 hours, but ideally 9 or 10, under eye masks will help you alleviate those dark circles. So pop them on at night whilst you’re watching a movie, or relaxing on your couch and let them do the work! There’s so many options out there so pick your personal favorite or try different ones until you find your favorite. After a while, you will totally see the difference!

Sunscreen!!

This is the most important part of your skincare routine, whether you’re inside or spending time outside on your balcony, park, etc. My favorite sunscreen is the La Roche-Posay sunscreen, but any other will work! You want to protect your skin from damaging UV-rays because it helps prevent skin cancer, but also because you don’t want to get dark spots, wrinkles, or saggy-skin early on. It’s always better to be safe than sorry, so wear sunscreen Hustlers!

Hustle on,
