Christmas time in NYC is magical. The decorations, the venues, and the snow make you feel like you’re in a movie. Coupled with Christmas trees and outdoor ice-skating rinks, this season is magical! So, if you’re looking for something different to do on your date, check these venues out!
Bryant Park
You can’t go wrong with going to the “Winter Village”. Bryant Park is an ideal choice for a date because there is a lot to do. You can go ice skating on their outdoor rink (don’t forget to book online since capacity is reduced), take a walk around the park, see the different shops, and get some food!
Next to the park, you will also find the NYPL (New York Public Library) so if you feel like going to a quieter place, you can just grab your coffee and head to its outdoor seating area!
Central Park
An iconic spot; Central Park has everything. You can take a stroll around the park, go skating in their outdoor rink, or visit a museum or two! A few of my favorite spots are “Strawberry Fields” and “The MET” steps. If you’re feeling like grabbing a coffee and finding a nice place to sit down, these are good places to go.
If you’re feeling like having a movie-like date, you can always take a horse-carriage ride, or bring some food and just have a picnic at the park!
Rockefeller Center
Rockefeller center is another great spot for a date, you can go watch the tree, ice skate, visit “FAO Schwarz” (which served as the inspiration for Duncan’s toy store in Home Alone), or any of the other stores!
I highly recommend going to watch the tree, it is breathtaking. If you go late during the day, you can also catch the beautiful “Saks Fifth Avenue” light show! Being a highly touristic area though, don’t forget to social distance!
